PUMP SYSTEMS

By a process of homogenisation, pump systems convert kitchen waste and leftovers into a pulpy biomass – directly at the input stations. This considerably reduces the volumes of most wastes. The biomass is then pumped in a closed system into the collecting tank. There it can be stored odourlessly for several weeks at room temperature. The biomass is regularly collected by vacuum – usually every 4 to 6 weeks – and transported to a biogas plant, where it is used directly converted into energy and fertiliser.

STORAGE TANKS
The biomass is stored in MEIKO GREEN collection tanks. Type, nature and size of the tank is determined, among other things, by the volume of daily leftovers and the available space. The larger the tank, the lower the costs and the longer the interval between collections: Usually collection is every 4 to 6 weeks, but longer storage is no problem.
